Small Halls Inc. is a PEI non-profit organization whose mandate is to bring events to rural, community-based venues all over Prince Edward Island.

To breathe new life into what have become declining community halls due to many factors but mostly the rural-urban shift. We engage local communities and volunteers, to offer authentic, genuine experiences and ensure quality and professionalism in every facet of our events, from the planning to the artistic decisions, production, marketing and customer service.  As well as being firmly committed to our local communities, small venues and the organizations and volunteer committees that operate them, Small Halls Inc. is also committed to hiring Atlantic Canadian touring artists and they recognize the importance of showcasing and profiling the performers, venues and all parts of the entertainment industry on the east coast of Canada and specifically PEI.

Small Halls Inc. has an extensive list of accomplishments which includes up to 50 traditional music and storytelling shows per year in our flagship event -The PEI Mutual Festival of Small Halls; plus the Prince Edward Island-wide Christmas Craft and Bake Sale in rural venues; a traditional music, multi-cultural, multi-stage extravaganza for Prince William and Kate Middleton on our Canadian tour in 2011; a 14 show celebration of Queen Elizabeth II for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and a 12 show school tour or the original production called “Let Me Tell You About the War of 1812”. Small Halls Inc. has also completed the successful school tour of the commemorative Juno Beach production called “Jake’s Gift’ in the Fall of 2014.

We have an extremely creative staff &  Board of Directors with a wealth of talent and experience; our productions can be produced in both official languages.  Our flagship event has consistently grown each year and has been nominated for East Coast Music Awards for “Event of the Year” (in Atlantic Canada) and the annual Canadian Event Industry Star Awards for Outstanding Logistical Achievement and Best Event Produced by an Association, Board or Committee. It has won the PEI Music Awards “Event of the Year” trophy in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2017.
